Thanks to those who responded to Jen Jenkins invitation regarding the new RE agreed syllabus in mixed aged classes. A meeting has been set for Tuesday 16 April 16.00-17.00 for some thinking prior to the syllabus launch that can then be alluded to and consequently built upon. A Zoom link has been sent out to those who responded but if you have not signed up, let us know and we will send it out to you.

Shakespeare Week and the New Coventry and Warwickshire Agreed Syllabus
Shakespeare Week will mark its 10th anniversary this year when it takes place from March 18-24. It also coincides with the launch of the new Coventry and Warwickshire local RE agreed syllabus!
Within the syllabus there is a focus on exploring the entwining of religion and history in our local area and that inevitably leads to the life and worldview of Stratford-born William Shakespeare. There are also additional questions within some units allowing you to further explore Shakespeare’s worldview and whether or not we can see it through his plays, as well as a wider look at what an Elizabethan worldview might have included.
The resources from across different units have been packaged up to allow you to explore those things as part of your Shakespeare Week celebrations this year if you wish. You can find them here.
Otherwise, do consider whether you want to take advantage of the additional questions in the syllabus units to explore Shakespeare’s worldview in a deeper way once the syllabus is implemented from September 2024.
