Mrs Mary Baker, Head Teacher of Barford St Peter’s CofE Primary writes:

“We were thrilled to have Emma Kenyon from ISingPOP visit Barford this week to carry out our Main Event workshops culminating in 2 concerts on Thursday at our local St. Peter’s church. The children absolutely loved every moment of learning and performing the songs and the actions and we are immensely thankful to Emma, the ISingPOP team and the Diocese for this wonderful opportunity for our children. We would all wholeheartedly recommend it!”

Kerry O’Grady, Headteacher at All Saints CofE Academy Bedworth, told us how their children plan Community Action Projects linked to the value of ‘Service’ and to coincide with remembering the legacy of Nicholas Chamberlaine. She says…

“Once again the children have amazed us with their ideas, their passion and their dedication to wanting to ‘serve’ others in their community, linked to our focus value of ‘service’. Each class has produced a short video to share information about their project, and these have all been put into a playlist here.

Nursery: plant and cake sale, to support People in Action at the Mayor’s Café; Reception: Growing and selling plants to raise money for Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary; Year 1: Delivered pictures and chocolates to Chamberlaine Court Care Home, and entertained the residents; Year 2: Cake sale and ‘guess the name of the teddy’, raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital; Year 3: Sponsored run, raising money for Warwickshire Air Ambulance, in memory of Miss Balmer; Year 4: Tuck shop and treasure map, to raise money for homelessness charity Doorway; Year 5: Charity football match, and snacks and drinks sale raising money for the RSPCA; Year 6: non-uniform day with a ‘teddy bear’ theme, to raise money for Zoe’s Place (baby hospice).”
