The Beacon
The Beacon Project is a pilot project which began in 2021 and completes in 2023. Phase 2 will begin in September 2023. The pilot has been funded by a legacy from The Lucy Price Wasperton Trust, Benefact and 29th May 1961. The Mulberry Bush have been a significant partner in the delivery of CPD, facilitation of reflective practice and supervision. Sussex University have worked with us to complete an academic review of the pilot.
The Beacon model is a bespoke framework, designed to enrich schools’ ethos, with the particular aim of reaching out into the community. Our school buildings and community are integral to the church community in the parish. We believe that The Beacon is an evolving resource helping children, families and staff to encounter God.
Our aim is to build community resilience, with resourcing for ongoing activities which extend from within a mainstream primary school into its locality. Its core purpose is to support vulnerable children, their families and wider community so they may have life in all its fullness.
